With the continued voluntary, more profit to the employer in exchange for almost nothing for the worker

In the Telephone Workers Union of Mexico both the ancient leader as owners of Teléfonos de Mexico SA de CV have launched a strong campaign since late last year for active workers of the main collective agreement work up to five years. It was not enough for them the increase of the years of work and age of new staff from 2009, but now launched another crusade against labor rights.

Up to five years of work for those who already reached the limit of their working life (31 service years), voluntarily, but under an avalanche of propaganda, meetings and firm pressure to drop. Still, only 25% of the telephone that under this condition, according to figures from eternal leader Hernández Juárez, accepted give more gain to the employer those years; ultimately, is a small percentage, especially if we consider that probably increased about points over the final result for give the appearance of a great addition.

Telmex owners earn twice: First, these comrades who have already signed up to give them five more years of his life to bring the employer's pocket as many years more gain. How much it will cost to Carlos Slim and other owners of the Telmex company this additional gain? Just a few pesos, because there is no additional salary increase for those who signed, neither a some prize. Only one more day of rest per week, as they will work only four days. Will only employer contributions to IMSS and Infonavit more normal wage increases each year the cost to disburse Telmex, which will result in higher Social Security retirement pension when these telephone operators reach 60 years and pensions this institution. As you can see, the benefit is very limited, especially if we consider that if these telephone workers opt for retirement on reaching his 31 years of work, they would have five days a week to increase their income being used in another job.

Moreover, Telmex also wins because those who signed for this voluntary retention, means five years off his life in retirement and therefore, five years less than it would be paying as retirement pension provided for in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. But five years less than to make the employer contribution to IMSS and INFONAVIT and general employer obligations to which labor law requires it.

What is the cost to the telephone worker that accepts the permanence? Five years less than full enjoyment of his time and of his family, the resignation to be master of himself. In short, the deprivation of his person as a free man, the continuation of wage slavery and labor discipline.

Already without the initiative and without the strength to demand coverage of vacancies and increasing workforce principal collective agreement, the union leadership was only serving as a vehicle for promoting the interests of management to convince workers of voluntary permanence, while corporate policy with large spoon served with outsourcing on full steam. It is undoubtedly extreme continuation of precarious work, enrichment based owners of the telecommunications business.
